Making your meal

Follow these simple steps to make your tasty DOM meal at home or in the great outdoors!

All you need is:

A spoon &
Boiling water

(measuring cup optional but NOT required, see tip 3 below)
Step 1 - Prepare in pouch or bowl

Prepare in the Pouch or in a Bowl

  • Eat directly from the DOM pouch.
  • Alternatively you can empty the pouch contents into a thermally insulated bowl with a lid.
Dine Out Meal freeze-dried meals

Remove the Oxygen Absorber sachet

  • With your spoon, locate the O2 absorber sachet and remove it
  • Don't worry if you can't find it now, it's non-toxic and will be easy to find when you stir the meal
Dine Out Meals are freeze-dried and only require boiling water

Add Hot Water

  • Open the bottom of the pouch as wide as you can to make a stable base
  • Carefully pour in water - quantity shown on the back of the pack
  • Don't worry if you haven't got an accurate measure, just fill the pack about half way. It will look quite wet but this water will be absorbed.
  • You can always add a splash more hot water later

Stir Contents

  • Give the mixture a good stir making sure that all of the dry food makes contact with the water.
  • The pack has been designed so that you can easily reach into all the corners.

Reseal or Cover

  • Seal the ziploc top of the pouch.
  • If you are using an insulated bowl, put the lid on or cover with a heatproof plate.
Dine Out Meals are ready to eat in 10 minutes

Rehydrate for 10 minutes

  • Leave to fully rehydrate, at high altitudes you might need a couple more minutes
  • Add a splash more water if you like more sauce
  • Give a final stir and enjoy your meal
